the garden tour pt. 3

on friday, back in florence, we visited the giardino deiSemplici, not the best one we saw, but there were interesting parts. look at those leaves!  i also liked how they hanged plants on the trunk of a tree.

the marble quaries

thursday we drove through the marble quaries.  quite a strange atmosphere.  very desolated.  everything covered in white powder, even the plants...

horse riding in massa

in the morning paolo drove us a little higher to show us the view there.  beautiful!  after that sigrid and narelle were riding the horses.  not me, i took some photos :)  that white cat was my favourite, romero was his name.

wednesdaynight we spent the night in massa, 600 meters high!  it was a bit of a scary drive (again!) but so worth it.  once we met the host of the place, paolo, we all felt comfortable.  we had a great dinner all together, and than he showed us the little house where we would sleep in.  he made it all by himself, he built the houses and the beautiful furniture!  have a look here for more images.

the garden tour pt. 2

wednesday afternoon we visited the Hanbury gardens, which is next to the Boccanegra garden.  it was more structured, but very beautiful as well, and so many plants and trees i had never seen before.  seems like i took many close-ups.  i have more analogue ones, have to wait a little more for those ones.

a few more from ann and bas' place up in the mountains in Apricale.  we didn't sleep there, we just had breakfast, but it's a higly recommend place if you'd ever plan going there.

wednesday morning we woke up in isolabona, a tiny village up in the mountains. it was a scary drive but we had so much fun :)
in the morning we drove a little higher, to sigrid's friends.  they had a wonderful place, with an outdoor shower, donkeys, lots of olive trees, and a cat who recently had 2 kittens, they were hiding so i couldn't make a photograph..

the garden tour pt. 1

i've started to sort out the photos, but it's hard to start! there are sooo many! and i haven't even developed the films i shot!  i will just start with the beginning of the trip.  the main reason of our trip was to visit some gardens throughout italy.  we rented a car and started from florence to ventimiglia.  the first day there we visited a private garden, the boccanegra garden.  the owner Ursula showed us around, the dog following us all the time :)  beautiful!

i'm back

i arrived back home last night. i had a wonderful trip! through the mountains, seeing beautiful gardens, meeting the loveliest people.  i made lots of photos! have to go through them all to make a selection.  will post more soon. this photo was taken last friday, by B.

minnie had a good time as well i think, it was super nice to see her cute face again :)

put me in your suitcase

tomorrow morning i'm off to italy!  tha hardest thing is ofcourse leaving minnie, but she will have the sweetest company here, at home.
i'll be back in 10 days!

summer days

we're having a lot of sunshine these days.  and next week i will be in an even warmer place! on sunday i'm leaving for italy with my 2 ERPP friends! i'm so excited and nervous :)

b is for boy

i made this face-pillow (with a little help from renilde)  for a friend's baby boy.  and look at this lovely photo from our ABC book, gina posted it on instagram and i love it!
